We made this track with our friend SK Schäfer (@schafersam on twitter) for Morlvision 2022 (twitch.tv/seanmorl), a comedy Eurovision event. This was our entry representing "The Sea".
The prompts were "The Trouble With Windmills" and "More? I think it could stand a little more, yeah".
lyrics
It's a lot of you to ask of me
To do my job and look so pretty
Blades are always turning
Have to keep on working
I stand alone from hour to hour
Turn the mill and grind your flour
Never let them hear
Quietly grind the gears
But I love the wind, the way it feels upon my face
I'll weather every gale, my feet set firmly in my place
I am powerful and resolute
A figurehead, but out of sight
Be a landmark, not a blight
Think of resting when the winds are low
Cause you know that I've got no place else to go
I just want to spin my arms around
Feel the air, play with the clouds
I'd love to find the time
Somewhere beyond the daily grind
Cause I love the wind, the way it feels upon my face
I'll weather every gale, my feet set firmly in my place
I am powerful and resolute
A figurehead, but out of sight
Be a landmark, not a blight
And wonder when the winds will cease to blow
Cause you know that I've got no place else to go
Spinning, Spinning, Spinning, I am always
Moving, Moving, Moving, I'll be always
Working, Working, Working, while the wind is
Blowing, Blowing, Blowing, I'll be always
I'll just keep spinning faster, winds are blowing, just keep moving on
Spinning, working, never stopping, always more work to be done
I don't want to wait until the wind is still to catch my breath
I don't want to wait to become my own mill to catch my breath
